Work

So I love my job and you will all probably get sick of hearing about my work.

Today was another day that made me remember why I do what I do. This dog came in today that had been living on the streets since before the holidays. The story goes that the person who owned this little dog was an elderly woman who passed away several months ago and the neighborhood had been trying to catch the two little dogs since. They were finally able to bring in one today.

This little black dog who is now being called "Baby" is so sweet. When the people first brought her in it looked like she had cast covering all four of her feet. From the shoulder/hip down this dog was solid with matts. her mouth was barely able to open due to the matts around her mouth. Lucky for Baby we had a slow day and we were overstaffed so 3 of us started shaving. After about 30 mins we had her legs free and then we thought she would look much better if we went ahead and cut her short all over. Well she looks great she did have a lot of dandruff so Lisa and I decided to give her an anti-dandruff bath, she is so sticking cute now.

It was sad when we went to walk her each step she took she was shaking her feet. God knows how long it had been since her feet (not the matts) had touched the ground. I forgot to mention that her toe nails were the only thing you could see sticking out of the matts. I am not kidding you her dewclaws were3 inches long and the rest of the nails were not much shorter.

God only know how long this poor dog had been living like this probably for years . She looked so happy (and way cute) after her hair cut and bath.

SO I am in a great mood and feel like I really mad a difference in little Baby's life!

WOW I started a blog!!

Puppy Class!!! I love my job! How many people can say that they get paid to play with puppies? Well at least for 2 hours each week that's my job. I teach a puppy socialization class. Yes puppies need to learn to have manners too. The class I teach is not an obedience class it is more like puppy play time. I love it. The puppies that come to my class always, for the rest of their life love coming to Sunrise Pet Clinic!!

I got a call earlier last week from another trainer here in town, she told me she had this puppy that was scared of everything and she was worried that if something didn't change the owners were going to give back the puppy. So Rusti (the female dobie) came in a little nervous but by the end of class she owned the joint I was so proud of her and it just confirmed the beliefs I had in my puppy class!!
